Friends of St Andrew

Pupils and teacher outside
Friends of St Andrew (FOSA) is a valued parent-led organisation that plays an important role in supporting the life and work of the school. Made up of parents and carers from across the school community, FOSA brings people together with a shared purpose: to enhance our pupils’ experience by raising funds for specific projects that directly benefit the school. The school is extremely grateful for the time, energy and generosity that FOSA members give so willingly.

At its heart, FOSA is about partnership. By working collaboratively with school staff, FOSA helps to strengthen the sense of community that is central to St Andrew. Funds raised by FOSA are always directed towards clearly identified priorities, ensuring that every contribution makes a meaningful and lasting difference. FOSA’s positive impact can be seen and felt throughout the school.

Over recent years, FOSA has supported the school through a variety of successful and enjoyable activities. These have included popular bake sales, which not only raise valuable funds but also provide opportunities for parents, pupils and staff to come together in a welcoming and friendly setting. FOSA members have also helped to support the school during open events and parents’ evenings, assisting with hospitality and helping to create the warm, inclusive atmosphere for which St Andrew is well known.

FOSA is currently focusing its fundraising efforts on supporting the development of the school library. This project reflects a shared commitment to reading, learning and curiosity. A well-resourced library plays a vital role in pupils’ academic progress and personal development, offering access to a wide range of books that encourage enjoyment of reading and support learning across the curriculum. Funds raised by FOSA will help to enhance this important space so that it remains an engaging and inspiring environment for all pupils.
Throughout the year, FOSA supports a range of events and initiatives, with details regularly shared in the school newsletters. These updates keep families informed about upcoming activities, recent successes and the projects being supported, helping the whole school community to remain connected and involved.

New members and supporters are always welcome. Becoming involved with FOSA is a rewarding way to contribute to school life, meet other parents and carers, and make a real difference for our children. Support can take many forms, from helping at events and sharing ideas to simply attending activities when possible. If you are interested in becoming a member of FOSA or would like to support its work in any way, please contact the school through the usual channels. The continued support of FOSA is sincerely valued and makes a lasting contribution to the life of St Andrew.
