Clubs and Enrichment

Pupils and teacher outside

Clubs and enrichment of the curriculum in and beyond the classroom is an extremely important part of our provision.

In school

Each subject area will organise additional activities to enhance the learning of students that will take place in school. There will be a planned programme of visits to the school by artists, authors and other specialists, to inspire and inform our students.

The school has Enrichment Days calendared each year when all students in year groups are off-timetable, participating in enriching activities. Previously we have had Humanutopia and Diversity Role Models visit the school to collaborate with year groups on specific themes.

Off-site

Subject departments will also organise learning activities both during and after the school day that take place off-site. For example, there will be environmental activities, theatre trips, concerts, museums, visits to business and industry, local history and geography field work.

Extra-curricular

Staff members will offer clubs and activities linked to their interests as well as their subject areas. Some clubs will be overseen by staff but will be led by students who have particular expertise and interests. Please see below for updated clubs and activities:

Extra-curricular Music lessons

Here at St Andrew the Apostle, we offer a variety of music tuition opportunities to nurture creativity, build confidence, and develop skills. Whether your child is a beginner or looking to advance, they can explore lessons in instruments such as piano, clarinet, violin, drums and more.  Extra-curricular music lessons are delivered by professional musicians through the Barnet Education Arts Trust (BEAT).

To learn about available options and to register your interest, visit the BEAT Trust website.

BEAT offers financial assistance to some students and more information can be found here:  Financial Support - Barnet Education Arts Trust.  The school may also be able to offer further financial help.

If you have any other queries about extra-curricular music at the school please contact our Music Lead teacher, Mr Lasithiotakis, using the staff contact form on our website.
