Term 1: Drugs and Alcohol

In this unit students will cover the impact and effects of the following substances: smoking and vaping, illegal drugs, alcohol. They will also cover the wider effects of substance misuse, the link between drugs and crime and the media influences.

In this unit students will cover the importance of education, the equality of opportunity, understanding networks, future career options, types and patterns of work and being aspirational.

Term 3: Relationships and Sex

In this unit students will learn about relationships and the media, pornography and consent, sexting, sexuality, teenage relationships and grooming, as well as Christian perspectives.

Term 4: Emotional Wellbeing

In this unit students will have an introduction to mental health and then cover happiness and positive mental health, self-esteem and resilience, mental health concerns and illnesses, understanding self-harm, and understanding eating disorders.

In this unit students will explore the impact of the media on body image, how to stay sae online from: finance and scams, abuse and harassment, grooming and exploitation as well as exploring the impact of social media and the importance of protecting your privacy and your data.

In this unit students will explore the history of voting, the women's vote, the importance of voting, the political vote, politics in the USA and Britain's relationship with the EU.
